How to support a child with epilepsy?

Do I have to inform my child's school about her diagnosis of epilepsy and if so what instructions should I give them?

Answer

It's critical and advisable to inform the school of the diagnosis and explain to them about the symptoms of the seizures that the child might have, your neurologist or your doctor would give you a plan for school which would include the information that needs to be conveyed to the school staff, as well as first aid as to what needs to be done with a child were to have a seizure and sometimes rescue medication is prescribed to use when the seizure occurs. Usually, children can have no restrictions on their activity, however, while swimming you need to make sure that the lifeguard outside is aware of the diagnosis
