Difficulty to have friends

My daughter has difficulty having friends. She is just not lucky in that when she finds a good friend, their mom isn’t cooperative and we can’t invite that friend over. She often feels sad and lonely. How can i help her as a mom?

Answer

Thank you for your question . I am not sure what you mean by "not being cooperative"  and I don't know your child's age so I will provide some general comments.
1. Try to understand where her challenges are, maybe ask her teacher. If a skill can be identified then it gives you something to work on .
2. Talk to her teachers and try to identify friends who will show more interest ( parents too)
3. Is she trying to connect with the right people? Is she approaching people of similar interests?
4 If your child is a teenager, then mum's are less likely to get involved which is why they may not be cooperative..
5. Expand her circle of possible friends through joining after school activities
